UT Downtown Gallery celebrates the 700th Anniversary of Italian Poet Dante Alighieri’s death.

In March, the UT Downtown Gallery will exhibit Salvador Dali’s Divine Comedy – a suite of 100 prints illustrating Dante Alighieri’s (1265-1321) poem The Divine Comedy, written in 1320. The 100 wood engravings were published by Jean Estrade of Les Heures Claures. These prints were a gift to the Ewing Gallery permanent collection by University of Tennessee alum, Gary Johnson.

The prints will be on exhibition March 5 – 27, 2021.
