The UT Downtown Gallery is committed to expanding connections to the arts and strengthening relationships with local communities. Through direct engagement with community organizations, we foster meaningful partnerships and ensure our exhibitions and programs resonate with the people we serve. 

For each professional exhibition we organize, the UT Downtown Gallery commits to a collaboration with at least one community group to co-develop programming. From the planning stage onward, we work closely with educators, nonprofit leaders, campus partners, and exhibiting artists to design events that reflect the priorities and needs of our partners and the interests of the community. This collaborative approach ensures that our programming is relevant and impactful for our community members. All community events are provided free of charge—removing barriers to participation and opening the gallery to all audiences. Our Community Events Program is the foundation of this effort, with events developed in consultation with local organizations.
