October 19 -20, 2024

As part of the 2024 Knox Small Press Fest, the Downtown Gallery is hosting a pop-up exhibition of Lauren Farkas' First Friday maps, First Friday Art Maps: Making Sense of Simultaneity. What began as a personal art project to help Lauren keep track of all the openings on First Fridays, has grown into a year-plus long project that has become a thoughtful exercise in community, materiality, data exploration, documentation, and working within parameters. Released on instagram days ahead of First Friday, each month's map is a new visual treat.
