Secondary Education Program

Our Secondary School Education Program connects middle and high school students with contemporary art and artists — offering meaningful art experiences beyond the classroom. Schools are invited to participate free of charge — with visits designed to inspire creativity, encourage critical thinking, and build lasting engagement with the arts.

Field trips include a guided walk-through of exhibitions led by the current exhibiting artist, with opportunities for students to learn about the artist’s creative process and professional journey. To further support hands-on learning, Title I students receive art supply kits curated by the artist, allowing them to experiment with creative techniques introduced during the gallery visit. Recognizing that transportation is a barrier for many Title I schools, the program provides busing expenses to our Title I partners located within proximity to the gallery. This program was developed in consultation with Knox County Schools’ Humanities Supervisor and Visual Arts Specialist, Heather Casteel.

Current partner schools include L & N Stem Academy, Fulton High School, Austin East High School and Vine Middle School. We have also hosted groups from Central High School, Farragut High School, Carter High, Newcomer Academy, Morristown-Hamblen High School-East, and Sunbright Academy in Morgan County.
